I mean, when the movie's villain can get a fighter pilot out of the way by activating his ejector seat via remote control, you can only assume there would have been much, much easier ways to get rid of certain other people, too.īut if you have a taste for this sort of nonsense, then all this hyper-implausibility is actually kind of fun. And it turns out the woman has been pulling all these strings in the most contrived manner possible simply to kill certain people who really should have been a whole lot easier to reach. (When high-voltage power lines begin falling from a tower, to punish someone down below, you wonder if the woman or her people placed remote-control detonators up there in advance, and how they knew where the person being punished would be standing.) Smart people who discover that "the grid" has been compromised make cell phone calls to warn each other anyway-calls that are immediately jammed, of course. Least favorite scene:Almost all of the car or foot chase scenes where the camera is much too close to the action and shaking that make it difficult to see and follow. For one thing, the woman at the other end of the phone ends up manipulating things that she really shouldn't have any access to. Eagle Eye isn’t a bad movie, it’s just too cluttered, with not enough time set aside for any character development.įavorite scene:When Jerry and Rachel are crawling amongst the Luggage sorting equipment and conveyer belts trying to escape from the FBI. There’s no time for character development, barely a pause to catch your breath or consider how plausible all this is, or even that there’s a ticking clock here. Jerry (Shia L), who’s young and way too smart for his Copy Cabana job, along with single mom Rachel (Michelle M), whose son is in danger, are sent on a wild odyssey, not knowing where they’re going, what they’re doing or who they’re doing this for.

The fever-pitch paranoia of this “Big Brother watching all” thriller along with the too numerous close-up camera shots became a bit tiresome as the movie wore on. I would recommend the entire movie to people.Ĭluttered.This movie was a bit far-fetched, extremely fast-moving, but overall enjoyable from the start to finish. Least favorite scene:There was really not one scene that stood out as the worst in the movie. The one thing that was unrealistic about the movie was that while Shia LaBeouf’s hair was messy and his face was cut up and dirty, the main female lead, Rachel somehow had her hair, clothes, and face remain perfect throughout the movie.įavorite scene:The best scene of the movie was the high speed chase during which a plane flew underneath a freeway tunnel. Least favorite scene:The final scene of the movie was a bit awkward, but at least it left the audience with an epilogue to what happened afterward.Ĭontradiction.Shia LaBeouf portrayed his character of Jerry Shaw, very well during the movie. It was creepy how any type of technology could be controlled by the mysterious woman, no matter where Jerry and Rachel were.įavorite scene:The action packed car chase, when Jerry and Rachel first meet and escape to their first destination, a wrecking yard for cars. When a mysterious woman called them from any phone nearby, the two were forced to carry out orders, or disobey and die. I really felt there was no way out for characters ,Jerry (Shia LaBeouf) and Rachel (Michelle Monaghan). Suspense. The story was very suspenseful and made you sit on the edge of your seat the whole movie. Least favorite scene:How Jerry and Rachel could both fit in the airplane crate together, it wasn’t believable to me. I would recommend this movie to kids 10 and up.įavorite scene:When Jerry stopped Sam from playing the trumpet before it blew up. It was very mysterious where all this stuff came from. I liked when Jerry came home and there were a bunch of explosives and weapons in his house that he didn’t put there.

I liked the idea of a computer who could terrorize people and control their families. Rated PG-13 for intense action, violence and some language.Įxciting.This movie was really exciting with lots of action and suspense. The Busch family from Trabuco Canyon and friend Madeleine Jackman reviewed “Eagle Eye” starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, and Billy Bob Thornton.
